MIX&WIPES MODULE

The Mix&Wipes module adds to each available DDR (Digital Disk Recorder) the ability to mix together in real time: a) the live video stream and a recorded take or grabbed frame; b) 2 recorded takes or grabbed frames or a combination of the two. The Live layer can be used either as background or as foreground. The mix can be obtained by changing the foreground transparency or by cutting out part of the foreground with horizontal, vertical, square or corner  wipes or by a combination of the two (transparency + wipe). While a mix involving Live is in progress, the Live layer can be recorded and the pre-recorded layer can be played back on cue from any frame; a composite involving Live cannot be shown onto the Director’s monitor (On-Line mode) because no video DV device can act as contemporaneous Input and Output device (for this feature you’ll need the RT&L Module and a second bidirectional DV device); at the end of the recording the composite can be played back immediately onto the Director’s monitor (On-Line mode); the recorded composite can also be modified after recording because the Live layer (BG or FG) is always recorded clean and the compositing is done in real time every time. When 2 pre-recorded takes or grabbed frames are used in a composite, the saving of the composite does not require any additional disk space for renderings.

Mix&Wipes + Essentials: No additional hardware is required.
Mix&Wipes + DualCamera: Minimum DualCore CPU with 4MB L2 cache required.
Mix&Wipes + QuadCamera: QuadCore CPU with 4MB L2 cache strongly recommended.
